Five years ago, I picked up a few pieces of wood, wrapped the ends in rope, and used plaques to display scriptures—not to sell, but to give. I didn’t start The Word on Wood as a business. I started it as a ministry. A way to encourage my Christian brothers and sisters with something tangible, something timeless, something rooted in the Word.
Each cross I made was a prayer in wood. I gave them freely—at church, to friends, to strangers who needed a reminder that faith is bigger than fear. Over time, those crosses began to travel. They found homes in living rooms, offices, dorms, and hospital rooms. And with every cross came a story:
To date, I’ve given away over 200 crosses. And while I never set out to sell them, the requests kept coming. People wanted to gift them. Display them. Share them. So after much prayer and reflection, I decided to open the doors of Word on Wood—not just as a workshop, but as a place where faith and craftsmanship meet.
